Safariland QLS Quick Locking System Kit QUICK-KIT1-2 Bundle with 2" Mid-Ride Belt Loop 6070UBL-2-2
The Safariland QLS 19 and 22 are a great pair of tools for any holster. They're molded plastic but they lock onto the holster with a good, solid click and they'll stay there until you want to adjust your load.
The QLS 19 and 22 fit into most holsters without issue, so if you have one of those universal holsters that can hold a gun or two or three, this is the perfect tool to use with it. It's not cheap at $46 per set but then again neither is replacing an arm should it get mangled in combat. The fact that these replace lost limbs makes them worth every penny though.

Drop Leg Holster, Right-Handed Tactical Thigh Pistol Gun Holster Leg Harness A-Tan
Nehostertfy Tactical Thigh Holster
The Nehostertfy Tactical Thigh Holster is a great option for those who need an extremely versatile holster that can be used on the hip, thigh, or even as a belt-mounted holster. The design of this holster wraps around your leg and then fastens via adjustable straps at either end. You're able to adjust these to suit your individual needs and they'll also keep the gun securely in place during movement or activity.
As such, you'll have access to your firearm whenever you need it most which is fantastic if you're wearing this while hiking or running through rough terrain. It's not without flaws though - the main issue we had with this product was that it doesn't hold the gun firmly in place so there's some play when riding on bumpy terrain, especially when running and jumping.
1911 Drop Leg Holster FAQs
Can I Carry The 1911 Locked And Loaded In A Drop Holster?
Yes, but it is not recommended. The 1911 was designed as a semi-automatic pistol and should be treated that way. Some people like to carry their 1911s in drop holsters because they can draw faster that way, but the problem is that you don't have control of the slide unless your hand is on it; if something happens and you need to fire immediately, you would have no control over what happened next — including whether or not the gun went off.
If you absolutely must carry a locked and loaded 1911 in a holster, make sure it's an appropriate one with adequate retention so that if you were attacked, your gun didn't just fall out on the ground somewhere. Also, ensure there are no problems with how far back the trigger can be pulled without firing; some companies make special safeties for their holsters to prevent this from happening accidentally. If at all possible, find another type of holster — preferably one that keeps your pistol semi-automatic only — so you can keep it safely holstered until you actually need to draw and use your handgun properly.
Do They Make A "left-handed" 1911 Drop Leg Holster?
Unfortunately, no. There is no good way to make a 1911 left-handed drop leg holster because of the location of the magazine release. If you were able to swap the gun with someone else for just long enough to make the holster, that would work; however, that's awkward and requires assistance from another person.
